Friendly and clever cheerful nature

The French Bulldog belongs, just like the Pug and the Boston Terrier to the dog breeds with flat snoutsThey are conspicuous by their compact shape, the almost square head, their protruding bat ears and, as already told, their flat snout. The French Bulldog has its origin in the English Bulldog. Frenchies make an excellent companion dog, as they are very affectionate and have a gentle disposition.

The Fédération Cynologique Internationale classifies the French Bulldogs as a so-called small molossian type in the FCI Group 9, which includes a total of 26 companion dogs.

Characteristics and traits of the French Bulldog

Despite their rather grouchy facial expression at first glance, Frenchies are extremely cheerful and playful companions. You probably also fell in love with their loyal lively eyes at first sight. French Bulldogs are very attached to their caregiver and will hardly leave your side. They will defend you and your home, but without being aggressive.

You can do all kinds of activities with French Bulldogs. It just shouldn’t be quite as exhausting, as Bullies like to romp around, but on the other hand, they also like to be cozy.

Due to their narrowed nostrils, they have a harder time breathing than other dog breeds. Especially in summer, this means they not only have trouble breathing, but can also easily overheat due to high temperatures. Here is definitely foresight and attention is required!

The French Bulldog has a huge temperament and is therefore sometimes hard to stop. That is why a loving but consistent education is very important. All dogs need education and should know the basic signals and be able to follow them.

Specifics when buying a muzzle for the French Bulldog

For dogs with a flat snout like the French Bulldog, it is often very difficult to find the right muzzle. Standard muzzles can be very unpleasant and painful for your pup.
