All training requires time and patience, including muzzle training. Training success does not come overnight. So turn each step listed into a training session with a few repetitions at a time. You train each unit about 2 - 3 times a day for 3 - 5 days, or until your dog feels comfortable with it. Give yourself and your dog enough time. Enjoy working together, because every positive training promotes your bond and increases trust! If you train with a marker (clicker, marker word), it can of course also be installed here. Have fun!

Step 1: The liver pâté tube Trick

For muzzle training, put some liver pâté or cream cheese in the BUMAS and let your dog lick it out. Repeat this a few times a day and praise your dog while he licks the BUMAS diligently. You do this until your darling likes to put his snout in the BUMAS himself.

Step 2: Place the straps around the neck

Put the straps around your dog's neck while he licks. Repeat this a few times, then short the buckle. After a few seconds, open the buckle again. Praise your dog and let him keep licking. This makes muzzle training really fun for him.

Step 3: Give treats outside of the BUMAS

Your dog now knows that in this BUMAS thing there is always something delicious inside. He will therefore (curiously) stick his snout in, even if there is no pie inside yet. That's the point behind muzzle training. Praise him for putting his snout back out and giving him great treats outside. Repeat this step.

Step 4: Put treats through the muzzle

Your dog now knows, in this BUMAS thing, there is always something totally LecWhen your dog puts his snout in the BUMAS, put the straps around the neck and fasten them. Praise your dog and give him treats from the outside through the BUMAS so he can eat them inside. Undo the buckle, take off the BUMAS and praise your dog. Give him treats too so he learns, muzzle = great. Repeat this step very often and increase the wearing time. You are already real Maullorb training professionals.eres inside. He will therefore (curiously) stick his snout in, even if there is no pie inside yet. That's the point behind muzzle training. Praise him for putting his snout back out and giving him great treats outside. Repeat this step.

Step 5: BUMAS up and move

Step 4 works well now, your dog can have the BUMAS on for a while. Put the Bumas on your dog and take 2-3 steps away from him. Call him to you, he should now learn to move with the muzzle. When he's with you, praise him and give him treats through the muzzle. If your dog doesn't come right away when called, lure him with the treats. When he has eaten, take a few steps away and repeat this step in muzzle training. After a few repetitions, build up the distance as well.

Step 6: and now the whole outdoors

Now we move all steps of muzzle training outside. Repeat this a few times outside. If it works out well, you can take a short walk. Remember, always praise and give treats through the muzzle. If your dog tries to brush off the BUMAS on the way, prevent this in a friendly manner and praise it for its patience. Slowly increase the period of wear while decreasing the treats. Congratulations, your dog can now wear a muzzle and associate that positively.

Your dog can, of course, get treats and praise, even if he already knows the BUMAS very well. Even if you take the BUMAS from him, he should get praise and treats. At least he's wearing his BUMAS in an exemplary manner now.
