Product safety notice – BUMAS muzzles
A BUMAS muzzle – due to the deformable material, does not offer 100% protection against a dog bite.
BUMAS muzzles are designed and manufactured with the utmost care to increase safety when handling dogs and reduce the risk of injury . However, it cannot be completely ruled out that a dog may bite or otherwise cause harm despite the muzzle being worn. This is especially true if the muzzle lacks a protective strap and extra safety straps.
The actual protective effect depends, among other things, on the individual fit, correct handling, training status and behavior of the dog.
Please pay attention to the following:
- Check the fit and condition of the muzzle regularly.
- Use the muzzle only for its intended purpose .
- Do not leave your dog unattended , even if he is wearing a muzzle.
BUMAS assumes no liability for damage caused by improper use , inadequate adjustment or the dog's behavior .

We generally recommend the full Extra Safety function, because safety comes first!
To provide more freedom of movement on the side walls of the muzzle, we have developed the Extra Safety option for the bottom only.
The advantage is that it's easier to feed treats. The disadvantage is that any reduction in the strap size compromises safety.
Browband

Nose Free
For dogs with upturned noses , such as German Boxers, we recommend our Nose-Free option. This ensures that the muzzle does not rest on the sensitive nose leather.
This option is also very well suited for dogs with snub noses . And, of course, for any dog with a long snout, if desired. It's simply easier to sniff with a nose-free nose!
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR:
- Dogs that eat everything off the ground
- Dogs with a biting history
- Reactive dogs
WARNING: Due to the opening in the muzzle, it is possible that teeth could protrude through the opening in an emergency and cause a bite.
This option is not possible for dogs with flat snouts such as Pugs, Boston Terriers, and French Bulldogs. Due to their anatomy, there is no room for maneuver.
Reflector belt
The main strap on the BUMAS muzzle is replaced with a reflective version for added safety in the dark. Our leashes and collars are also available in this version.
The reflector straps are 19mm wide and available in neon yellow, neon pink, black, and turquoise. Due to the width of the straps, this option is only available for dogs with a muzzle circumference of 26cm or more.
Neoprene nose guard
A BUMAS muzzle is produced with a nose guard made of BioThane®. This is soft, smooth, and comfortable. For extremely sensitive noses, e.g., in cases of scarring on the nose, it can be additionally equipped with soft neoprene.
We really only recommend this option for very sensitive dog snouts, as the Biothane nose guard is sufficient in most cases.
metal buckle
Every BUMAS muzzle is equipped with a click closure.
Optionally, a classic metal buckle is also available, which allows the neck strap to be fastened variably like a belt. This is practical for dogs with thick coats (Poodles, La Gotto, etc.) and dogs with very long fur.
BRASS
For dogs suffering from metal/nickel allergies, we carry rivets and screws made of allergy-free brass.
However, these are gold-colored and can be chosen for that reason alone.
Throat belt
The throat strap is recommended for dogs with a wide panting pattern. It is attached to both sides of the center strap with a screw each, is adjustable in length, and is also removable. The throat strap stabilizes the BUMAS muzzle on the dog's muzzle without restricting panting. In some cases, the throat strap can also be very effective in preventing the muzzle from being removed.
