In 3 steps to the perfect fitting muzzle

You’ll need: one or two tailor’s measuring tapes, paper clips, a piece of paper and a pencil, and of course treats for your patient dog.

1. Circumference of the snout

Place the measuring tape around the dog’s snout and fix it with the paper clip. Do not place the measuring tape too close to the eyes, make the measurement about 1 – 1.50cm in front of the eyes. The measuring tape should run straight down from the bridge of the nose to the lips. Do not pull it towards the throat or tip of the nose. The lips should not be squeezed, nor should there be any slack. As can be seen in the sample pics below.

Note the snout circumference in cm, do NOT add anything extra, the room for panting will be asked later!

Take your measuring photo in the side profile. Please make sure that the complete head of the dog is to be seen, and you can read the numbers on the measuring tape. Upload your measurement photo later during the ordering process!

Long snout, small
Flat snout, small
Overbite, “Flat snout”, large

You own a Bull Terrier? Then please measure the snout circumference even further in front of the eyes, as can be seen in the photo.

2. The snout length

Long snout: Place the measuring tape approx. 1 – 1.50cm in front of the corners of the eyes at the bridge of the nose. Measure to the outermost point of the nose tip.

ATTENTION: Please be really careful not to place the measuring tape too close to the eyes, or even between the eyes.

You own a Bull Terrier? Then please start the length measurement approx. in the middle of the snout, as it can be seen in the photo.

Note the muzzle length in cm, please do NOT add anything extra!

Take your measurment photo vertically and straight above the snout. Please make sure that the complete head of the dog is to be seen, and you can read the numbers on the measuring tape. Upload your measurement photo later during the ordering process!

What’s next?

The order is only completed after full payment. Only then you will receive our so-called “pant control” by e-mail within 24 hours. Please pay attention and reply to this e-mail, with your dog’s panting measurement. Because your dog should of course have enough room to pant and drink in the BUMAS muzzle.

Based on you measurements you will find a non-binding suggestion for the inner space size of your BUMAS muzzle. This suggestion needs to be controlled, hence “panting control”. How exactly to do the pant control on your dog, you will also read in this e-mail. Please follow the instructions and reply with your result.

Important: Only after you have replied to this e-mail, your individual BUMAS muzzle will be produced. If we have any further questions, we will of course contact you beforehand.
